In a joint demonstration project for the Tampa Bay region, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S Geological Survey(USGS)have blended their bathymetric and topographic data sets(respectively) into a digital elevation model(DEM) with the help of a datum transformation tool. This solves the problem of inconsistency of data between NOAA and USGS.

In a joint demonstration project for a narrow band along the coastline in the Louisiana Topo/Bathy project area, LIDAR data provided by NASA is compared to the result of a manual survey performed along the same area and the results are verified.
