GIS Day - 2001
On November 14, 2001, the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Wetlands Research Center,
John E. Chance & Associates, UL Lafayette/NASA Regional Application Center, and
C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates sponsored “Discovering Acadiana through GIS”, a
GIS Day open house event. The event included a map gallery, GIS presentations,
demonstrations/booths, and a tour of the Regional Application Center’s GIS lab.
About fifteen agencies/organizations representing federal, state, and
local governments, private industry and academia from the Lafayette region
participated. The open house attracted over a hundred and fifty guests and lasted for four hours.
