What are the benefits of National Map concept?

The National Map concept removes the limits imposed by traditional mapping products: it lets users go beyond common map boundaries (like quads or counties) and extract the information they need.

The National Map concept has many benefits, including

• SEAMLESS Providing users with seamless data • INTEGRATED DATA  Incorporating the best available data–usually local data, which often is the most detailed and accurate. • SCALE INDEPENDENT These maps can be scale-independent. Scales are only limited by data accuracy and the paper you print the maps on. The graphic at right illustrates the flow of source data that allows the National Map to integrate local and regional data with state and federal data into a current and seamless digital mapping product.
