- Integrate current and explore future technologies in ingesting, storing and
disseminating data:
Strategies:
- Additional storage cells are being acquired for the manipulation of raw image
ingest data.
- NT Workstation equipment is being installed for integration into the RAC
configuration and development of end-user products and applications.
- Continue to develop mass storage and archival system ( over 1 terabyte) for serving
imagery, text and geospatial data. (coordinate with the EEIRC and NWRC activities)
- Complete the design and implementation of the Regional Application Center at (The
ACIM Building) which is under construction. This includes RAC infrastructure, equipment
and internal furnishings of the center.
- Develop applications for remotely sensed imagery and provide data for other
agencies.
- Write proposals to further the research and application development in regards to
image and geospatial information.
- Develop in-field and on-line educational tools for training in the use of remotely
sensed data.
- Train graduate and undergraduate students through project and application
development.
- Develop strategy to market and promote the mission of NASA/UL Lafayette RAC, ie.
Kiosk for grand opening.
- Work with colleges and departments for project development involving NASA
technology and remotely sensed imagery.
