  • Integrate current and explore future technologies in ingesting, storing and disseminating data:

Strategies:

  • Additional storage cells are being acquired for the manipulation of raw image ingest data.
  • NT Workstation equipment is being installed for integration into the RAC configuration and development of end-user products and applications.
  • Continue to develop mass storage and archival system ( over 1 terabyte) for serving imagery, text and geospatial data. (coordinate with the EEIRC and NWRC activities)
  • Complete the design and implementation of the Regional Application Center at (The ACIM Building) which is under construction. This includes RAC infrastructure, equipment and internal furnishings of the center.
  • Develop applications for remotely sensed imagery and provide data for other agencies.
  • Write proposals to further the research and application development in regards to image and geospatial information.
  • Develop in-field and on-line educational tools for training in the use of remotely sensed data.
  • Train graduate and undergraduate students through project and application development.
  • Develop strategy to market and promote the mission of NASA/UL Lafayette RAC, ie. Kiosk for grand opening.
  • Work with colleges and departments for project development involving NASA technology and remotely sensed imagery.
