Workshop Cost Arrangements
The cost for each workshop is posted on each workshop flier. Some workshops are free but the participants are still required to register online or register by filling out the form and mailing ii to us.  Checks issued for payment of the workshop should be made payable to "Regional Application Center". Please note or remark in the "For" section of the issued check "Workshops". Other forms of payment such as purchase orders cash & etc. can be processed by mailing or calling Thea Linscombe at NASA/UL Regional Application Center, 635 Cajundome Blvd, Abdalla Hall 2nd Floor, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506.

Travel & Transportation Information
Each workshop participant must make their own travel schedule and arrangements to Lafayette LA. A map showing available airport service to the area is presented on a guide sheet. Each of the the airports are serviced by major airline carriers. Major car rental companies are available at each of the airport terminals.
          Transportation to and from the workshop facility each day will be the responsibility of the workshop participant. Parking arrangements at the National Wetlands Research Center, the Annex and Abdalla Hall are presented on an area guide sheet. Please plan to allow enough time to arrive at the designated workshop facility area and room

 

Lodging Arrangements
Each attendee should make their own lodging arrangements from the suggested listing of motels and hotels. The location, type, and telephone number of the motels and hotels are presented in the travel guide. There should be enough variety of lodging options to serve the needs of the participants.

 

Field Exercises
"Some" workshops will have scheduled field trips to certain selected areas nearby Lafayette. Check your workshop information handout or agenda to see if a field trip is planned for your topic of interest. Where there are scheduled field exercises please bring adequate clothing for the field trip. Field trips to wetland areas would involve possible movement into "wet" areas and waders, long pants, long sleeve shirts and a cap would be the appropriate attire for the workshop participant. There will be occasions or ample opportunities to use a camera or binoculars.

 

Workshop Materials
A set of workshop handouts, guides, photos, maps, floppy disk(s) and a notebook will probably be distributed to each attendee to keep. However, the instructor will indicate which materials will be kept by the workshop participant.

 

Continuing Education Credits
Workshop participants are encouraged to apply for University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Continuing Education Credits (CEC) for any of the scheduled workshops. Each workshop participant will be given a CEU form for the workshop that they are attending and upon completion of the workshop can elect to send in the completed form, along with a $10 registration fee, to the University.
